Remaster of the legendary first and only album (2003) of the unique ensemble Angklung Santosa from the Netherlands.

Angklung is a set of musical instruments made entirely from bamboo. It is popular throughout Indonesia, probably originating in Sunda (West-Java) but it also spread out beyond to Malaysia and the Philippines. By 2010 the angklung was recognized by UNESCO as Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

Angklung Santosa was a family ensemble trio led by Adi Santoso in the seventies and eighties, comprising of his daughter Romanita and his son Renadi. By the nineties Romanita had left for her Indonesian classical music and dance activities with the Wisma Ulah Budaya. Undaunted Adi and his son kept the band going as a duo.
After his retirement Adi found time to record what was to become their only album. In the studio they made use of the technical facilities to create a group sound that never was nor ever will be. Renadi, who by then had made name on his own as a gifted and creative gamelanplayer and composer, was responsible for the new arrangements, highlighting the unique qualities of every song.

The ten songs on this album represent the cultural diversity of Indonesia and can be called true evergreens, beyond any fashion or trend. What makes this album so special is the unique signature of this ensemble, presenting for the first time online their one-of-a kind brand of worldmusic.
